How will the new fee disclosure requirements affect the retirement savings participants’ decision making process

With the new fee disclosure requirements on participant-directed retirement plans going live soon, plan sponsors and administrators are putting finishing touches on the procedures to meet these requirements.

After reading an article in the New York Times on this topic, thought of the following questions, and wonder if the retirement plan participant community has other similar ones:

1) Do you know how many different kinds of fees are charged on your 401(k) account and which companies get those fees?

2) Do you know the impact of those fees on your personal investment performance over time?

3) How would knowing those fees make a difference in your decision making process to invest in various funds?

Do you have any questions as you review this post?
